The MC220L is a media converter designed to convert signals between 1000BASE-SX/LX fiber and 10/100/1000Base-T copper media. It easily extends the distance of existing gigabit networks over fiber optics when combined with SFP modules. The MC220L implements IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T and IEEE802.3z 1000Base-SX/LX standards as part of its intended use with multimode/singlemode SFP modules. Long-distance point-to-point connections can be easily achieved with the Gigabit fiber converter, making it ideal for networking across multiple buildings, for remote surveillance and factory automation equipment.
The MC220L offers the flexibility of being installed on a standalone desktop or in a chassis (TP-Link TL-MC1400). Easy-to-see front panel status LEDs provide real-time status information to monitor up-to-the-minute network activity, while the maximum fiber optic transmission distance depends on the insertion of the SFP module.
