Close unused ports
When a computer or network device is off, the corresponding port of a traditional switch will still consume a lot of power. TL-SG1024D can automatically detect the link status of each port and reduce the power consumption of the idle port.

Power budget by cable length
In principle, a shorter cable will consume less power due to less power degradation along its length. This is not the case for most devices, as it consumes the same power throughout the entire cable, whether it is 10 or 50 meters (32.8 or 164.0 feet) in length. TL-SG1024D analyzes the length of the connected Ethernet cable and adjusts power consumption accordingly, instead of maintaining power consumption in conventional solutions.
