How does this product work?
All 8 ports of TL-SG1008MP support the Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) standard, which can automatically detect and supply power to IEEE 802.3af/at compliant devices. In such situations, the power is transmitted along with the data in a single cable, allowing you to expand your network where there are no power lines or sockets where you need to fix devices such as APs, IP cameras or IP phones.
Overload sorting
TL-SG1008MP has a priority function that protects the system when power is overloaded. If the power consumption of all PoE+ devices is greater than or equal to 153W, priority will be arranged among the 8 PoE+ ports, at which point the system will cut off the power of the port with the lowest priority.
Port priority function
Priority (Port 1 > Port 2 > Port 3 > Port 4 > Port 5 > Port 6 > Port 7 > 8): This function protects the system if power is overloaded. For example, if ports 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 consume 30W (maximum power per port is 30W, total system power is 153W), and there is an additional device plugged into port 3 at 25W, the system will cut off the power to port 7 in response to the power exceeding the 153W limit, which means that ports 1, 2, 4, and 5 will consume 30W, and port 3 will consume 25W, with no power supplied to port 7 as it has the lowest assigned priority among all active ports.
Easy to use
TL-SG1008MP Easy to install and use, no configuration or installation required. With its desktop/rack mount design, outstanding performance and quality, the TP-Link TL-SG1008MP 8-Port Desktop/Rack Mount Switch with 8-Port PoE+ is an excellent choice for expanding your home or office network.
