D-Link's DGS-1210 Series intelligent managed switches are the latest models of switches that offer increased Power over Ethernet (PoE) output, different types of physical interfaces, multiple management interfaces, and advanced Layer 2 features. All of these features combined make the DGS-1210 Series a cost-effective and flexible solution for expanding any business network.
The DGS-1210 Series switches support 8, 24, or 48 10/100/1000BASE-T ports. Each switch also supports an additional 2 or 4 Gigabit SFP ports for optical connectivity using multimode or single-mode SFP transceivers.
PoE support
Five of the nine models in the DGS-1210 Series support Power-over-Ethernet capability, simplifying the operation of IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and other powered devices. These models include the DGS-1210-10P, DGS-1210-10MP, DGS-1210-28P, DGS-1210-28MP, and DGS-1210-52MP. Administrators can control PoE functions, such as remotely rebooting the camera or access point, from anywhere on the network, including over the Internet, using the switch's management interface.
It also supports time-based PoE, which allows administrators to set a time period to turn on and off PoE power for each port. All PoE models support IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, and the PoE power budget varies by model.
Automatic configuration
The DGS-1210 Series supports Auto Voice VLAN and Surveillance mode, which enables automatic identification and management of voice and video traffic, different from normal network traffic. Auto Voice VLAN detects Voice over IP (VoIP) traffic and automatically segments it from the rest of the network, enhancing security and allowing for Quality of Service (QoS).
Surveillance Mode detects compatible ONVIF cameras and places them in a surveillance VLAN, enabling a single switch for audio, video, and data, eliminating the need for specialized hardware and reducing maintenance costs. Surveillance Mode also features a built-in web UI, providing easy access to surveillance features and simplifying management of your surveillance network.
Comprehensive security features to protect your network
D-Link's innovative Safeguard Engine protects the switch from traffic flood and virus attacks. 802.11X port-based authentication enables network authentication via an external RADIUS server. Additionally, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security and helps protect the internal IT network.
Comprehensive management and layered features
The DGS-1210 Series comes with a full range of L2 features such as IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). The IEEE 802.3x Flow Control function enables servers to connect directly to switches for fast and reliable data transfer.
In addition, this series supports advanced features such as static routing, which enables communication between different user groups in different VLAN segments in the network. The switch can directly manage routing between VLANs using multiple interfaces, making the network faster and more efficient. And because the switch can handle internal routing, only external traffic can be assigned to the network router to handle routing.
